Throughout the course, your trainer will assess you through various exercises and practical demonstrations. You will also sit a multiple choice question examination. Successful candidates will achieve the Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry.

All of the assessments will be conducted within the course duration.

We understand that exams can be daunting or nervous for many candidates. Many candidates on the course have not sat an examination in a long time. The trainer on the course will equip you with all the knowledge needed to pass.

How to apply for
SIA Close Protection Licence?

  • Step 1: Complete the Close Protection course
  • The first step in applying for your SIA Close Protection Licence is to book, attend and pass the Close Protection training course.
  • Step 2: Apply through SIA website
  • The next step is to complete the forms on the SIA's website. The SIA stands for Security Industry Authority and they issue the licence. The SIA is a government body and will check the following:
  • Your identity
  • Criminal record and background
  • Your course qualification
  • You do not need to provide any proof of your qualification as the SIA is able to check and validate qualifications electronically.
  • Step 3: Visit nearest Post Office
  • To facilitate your application, you will be required to go to your nearest participating Post Office with your identity documents after the SIA has checked and validated the course qualification you hold.
  • That's it! Once you complete all the steps above, sit back, relax and wait for your SIA badge to be posted to you.
